Prescription charges and exemptions

From 1st April 2021, the charges are:

Prescription (per item): £9.35

Please note that you may be prescribed a medication that incurs more than 1 charge, for example some packs of HRT medications have 2 different medications in one pack. In this instance you would be charged £18.70 for 1 item.

We only take card payments for NHS prescription services.

12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £108.10 or you can spread the cost over 10 months by paying by direct debit

3-month PPC: £30.25

If you regularly have two or more items each month than you will benefit from obtaining a PPC

If you would like to know if you have a medical condition that entitles you to free prescription please refer to the NHS website. You must hold a valid medication exemption certificate to be able to claim your prescriptions for free, this is not done automatically and if accepted must be renewed by the date on your certificate. Please speak to a member of the dispensary team for more information and to collect a form.

The dispensary team may ask you to provide evidence of your exemption when you come to collect your medication so please be sure to bring this with you at all times or have your representative bring it with them.
