Flu Vaccination 2024
The majority of flu clinics will commence after 3rd October, in line with government advice. Flu vaccines are not permitted to be given before this date and this includes at pharmacies. Pregnant ladies and children are permitted to be vaccinated from 1st September.
We will be inviting all eligible patients either by phone or text during September. You will be able to book directly into the flu clinics using your mobile phone or you can call to make an appointment. It helps call volumes if you can book directly yourself and choose a slot that suits you.
If you are calling to book an appointment, please do so after 10.30am.
We have 2 super Saturday clinics which will be held on:
Saturday 5th October at Shenington
Saturday 9th November at Fenny Compton
We are also offering midweek and evening appointments to ensure a broad range of slots.
The criteria for eligibility is as follows (please remember this is set by the government and beyond our control)
- Aged 65 years and over
- Aged 18 years to under 65 in a clinical risk group
- Pregnant ladies
- Children aged 2 or 3 years on 31st August 2024
- Children aged 6 months to under 18 years in a clinical risk group
- Care home residents
- Carers
- Close contact of immunocompromised individuals
- Frontline healthcare workers
It is our intention to also provide COVID vaccines to those patients eligible but no news is available yet on vaccine supply.
We kindly ask for your support by attending our flu clinics rather than visiting a local pharmacy. We have already purchased our vaccines and unused vaccines would cause a financial loss for the surgery. Your participation in our clinics will ensure that we continue to provide essential healthcare services for our community.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
